Tooth Powder

Anita

This is a simple recipe that cleans your teeth and keeps them healthy in a natural way.

Tooth Powder

3 tsp French Green Clay
(Or half French Green and half Bentonite clay)
3 tsp Calcium Carbonate
I tsp Walnut Bark, ground
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/2 tsp Salt, finely ground
1/2 tsp Turmeric, ground
1/4 tsp each of Ginger &/or Cinnamon, ground
1/4 tsp Clove, ground

Mix together. You can play around with the quantities, although roughly in these proportions, and the flavours.

I began using and then creating this tooth powder about 10 years ago and found it made a huge difference to my and the families oral health. It is a home spun recipe with no professional status but many years of anecdotal success amongst friends and family.

I use clay, especially French Green Clay for its detoxing and remineralising qualities. Clay has been used for ages by humans as a cleansing agent. It is also high in minerals and trace elements needed for healthy teeth and gums. It is also negatively charged, thereby drawing up any positively charged toxins to be released.

I use Walnut Bark Powder as it increases the ph level making saliva less acidic, thereby reducing the erosion of enamel. It also supplements the composition of the enamel thereby being a gentle and natural tooth whitener. Finally it firms up the gums and reduces inflammation.

Turmeric Powder is also used for similar properties in that it reduces inflammation and despite its yellow colour, also acts as a whitener for the teeth.

It can be used as a powder or added to coconut oil to make up a paste should one prefer.

These are my findings over the years but please do also do your own research into these ingredients and decide what is right for you."
